Create Your Own Movie Magic With The Star Wars Crawl Creator

Star Wars Crawl Creator LogoWhether you have seen the new Star Wars movie or are simply a fan of the original trilogy, the Star Wars Crawl Creator is a fun new tool that is well worth trying out. This free and easy-to-use tool lets users quickly and easily create their own version of the famous text crawl that is used in the opening sequence of each Star Wars movie. Complete with the iconic yellow font and the Star Wars music, even casual movie fans will immediately recognize the look.

Star Wars Crawl Creator Steps

When you first begin using the tool, the Episode IV title crawl appears as an example. Clicking the editor button at the top of the screen splits the screen so you can simultaneously type in your own text and see it previewed on the same screen. The editor itself is fairly basic. You can fill in a title line, a subtitle line, and the main body text. Each of these can include capital and lower case letters and all of the basic characters, but you can’t change the color of the text or the font. Once you have added in your desired text, you can click Done to see your finished product. All title crawls will include “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…” at the beginning, but otherwise it will show your text. Your finished product can’t be exported, but you can share it on social media or via a direct link. You can also embed it directly on your website using the provided code, assuming that your site works with iframes. I can definitely see using this tool to create your own personal crawl or as a way of getting students more excited about sharing something they have written. It is a fun tool that can be used in a lot of ways.
