Relax with PAUSE
With as much stress as many people face today, it is no surprise that app developers are trying to find new ways to quell this stress. PAUSE is one new app that purports to help with this particular problem. Given that this app is from PauseAble and ustwo, the creators of both Wayfindr and Monument Valley, I was immediately intrigued by it.
The app is very simple. Once you start it up, you simply touch the dot of color on the screen and then must try to move your finger slowly so that you stay on the dot at all times. As you succeed, the dot gathers other small surrounding dots and grows. If you move too quickly, the app will first notify you and then the dot will start shrinking. Similarly, if you stop touching the screen, the dot will shrink. Eventually, once the dot has filled the entire screen, you will be prompted to close your eyes and listen to the soft tones that the app plays. The entire experience aims to help you focus on relaxation rather than daily stresses. While I’m not sure about the scientific soundness of this app’s approach and I am a bit skeptical that it will work for everyone, at least some have found it helpful and it definitely does have a slightly mesmerizing quality to it. If you are someone who is looking for stress relief options, you may want to see whether it works for you.
The app is currently only available for iOS devices. You can see it in action and hear more from the team in the video below.
