Say It With A Video Mashup Using Crumbles

Screen Shot 2015-01-07 at 8.42.24 PMHave you ever wanted to send a message made up entirely of movie clips? If your answer to this is yes (or if you never considered this possibility but are now intrigued), Crumbles is for you. This new service allows users to type a message of up to 25 words in length into a message box. Once you finish your message, Crumbles quickly generates a video made up of clips from movies and television shows in which each of the words in your message is uttered. The resulting video is admittedly a bit stilted and sounds like an automated message, but the true humor comes from the juxtaposition of the various clips with one another.

Though users don’t have the ability to exert much control over which clips are used, they can choose from three different “dictionaries” of clips. The standard dictionary includes clips from a wide range of movies and TV shows, but the two other dictionaries, a Homer Simpson one and a Bee and Puppycat one, will only use clips from those shows.

Completed videos can be played directly on Crumbles or they can be shared directly to Twitter or Facebook. You can also create a link to your video which is then automatically copied to your device’s clipboard if you want to share the video elsewhere. If you want to see Crumbles in action, you can check out my test video or try the service yourself.
