Edit Photos with PicMonkey

Photo editing and image effects have become increasingly popular with many services attempting to match the popularity and success of Instagram. PicMonkey is an interesting example of a tool in this area because it brings the functionality of Instagram and more to your browser. With PicMonkey, editing an image is as easy as dragging and dropping it onto the PicMonkey screen. From there, you can crop, resize, and completely edit your image using their extremely easy-to-use tools.

PicMonkey includes a wide range of filters and effects that can be added to any image including the ability to make it look like a daguerreotype or sepia toned picture. In total, there are over 30 different filter effects available and multiple effects can be applied to a single image to give a huge number of possible variations. PicMonkey also includes tools for touching up images of people, which allow you to make almost any type of change you can think of from correcting red-eye, to whitening teeth, to adding highlights to hair. Framing effects can also be added to images to make them look like Polaroids or as if they are matted.

Beyond photo editing tools, it also has a simple tool for creating collages of multiple images in a variety layouts. It offers several stock images, but users can also upload their own images and arrange them in a number of different patterns, either with or without other effects added to them. PicMonkey makes editing photos in your browser quick and seamless and doesn’t even require registration. Currently, all tools are free, though there are plans to offer a premium service for a fee in the future. It is a great option for those looking for a free but robust photo editing tool.
