A New Tool for Infographics – Venngage

Debuting just last week, probably the newest tool for creating interactive infographics online is Venngage from the Vizualize.Me team. Building on the concepts that are at work in the Vizualize.Me infographic resume tool (discussed previously), Venngage allows users to create infographics on any topic with great simplicity. Despite this simplicity, Venngage is also extremely versatile, offering 14 different infographic templates, each of which is highly customizable, including the ability to resize the overall infographic to meet your specific needs. Besides offering a variety of layouts, Venngage is also well-designed for a wide range of data types since it offers more than a dozen different types of charts, a host of symbols and shapes and the ability to add your own images. Unlike many other infographic tools, Venngage also includes the ability to link to other web content directly in the infographic’s text.

Once you have completed your infographic, Venngage offers several options. If you plan to make numerous infographics in a single style, you can save your creation as a template to reuse in the future. Alternatively, if you simply want to use the infographic, Venngage offers the ability to download a .png file of the infographic or publish it either publicly or privately. To make it even easier to share your infographic, Venngage also provides embed code for each infographic to facilitate adding it to virtually any website.

Venngage Examples

Venngage’s combination of a large number of templates with a large number of ways in which these templates can be edited makes this the perfect tool for all infographic creators from those who have no design experience or ability to those who havea specific design aesthetic in mind. While it does allow users to make a polished infographic quickly, it also has the tools needed to take a deeper approach. And, all of the infographics created with Venngage are rendered in HTML, making them better suited for web use than the average infographic. This is one of the best web-based infographic creation tools that I have used and I would definitely recommend checking it out when it leaves private beta.
